Description of Works
Excavation of existing temporary clay capping system to allow placement of further waste following settlement period. Installation of 120,000m2 of permanent capping system utilising GCL membrane in conjunction with placement of 1.5m of restoration soils

Project undertaken within busy Landfill site. Close planning required with existing site managers to phase our works in with existing site operations within shared areas of site, in addition project involved phased removal of gas extraction infrastructure from temporary capping area followed by phased reconnection within the permanent capped area.
To provide client with financial savings Tom Blackwell’s imported GCL lining product direct from Polish Manufacturer this new product to the UK market required close liaison with the Environment Agency and extensive CQA testing to first gain approval and then manage installation on site.  
Selection of excavated material due to varying degrees of contamination.
