Description of Works
Excavation of existing aggregates and interburden to achieve formation levels for 2 new landfill cells followed by the placement of 500mm engineered clay liner and then DAC asphalt lining system & Leachate drainage infrastructure

Programme 27 Weeks, Completed Early in 19 weeks & Under Budget

Contract NEC Option ‘D’ Target Cost

Project was undertaken in the winter months with Cell 6 being constructed in one of the wettest winters on record, due to critical void shortage delaying of the works was not possible and careful planning and new methods of working had to be found to allow works to continue.
WALO UK Ltd were employed as specialist sub contractor to install DAC lining system with resources and deployment team from Switzerland.
